Acne Skin Care Products

Acne is an equal opportunity skin problem. If you are someone who is dealing with this embarrassing and sometimes painful condition, try incorporating one or more of the following product types into your skin care routine.

Cleansers

Anti Bac Skin Wash

Keeping facial skin clean and pores unclogged is the best way to eliminate or reduce acne outbreaks. Skin care products that combine antibacterial components plus astringent or drying agents, such as Dermalogica Anti-Bac Skin Wash, help to clarify and smooth away troubled spots caused by acne.

Creams

Calendula Cream

Creams are thicker than regular lotions and provide a heavy punch combined with an easy application method. Acne prevention creams cover the skin with antibacterial botanicals, antioxidants and other nourishing ingredients. With routine use of acne prevention creams such as Credentials Calendula Oil-Free Cream, you will see a reduction of acne breakouts along with more nourished and youthful looking skin. Although a majority of creams are made to be used in the evenings or at bedtime, some are formulated so that they can be used at any time during the day when the threat of an acne outbreak appears.

Gels

Glytone Acne

Many products such as cleansers and moisturizers come in a gel form. Gels such as Glytone Acne Treatment Gel are easy to use and make removing oil, dirt, makeup and everyday grit from the face a piece of cake. Use gels for cleansing when bar cleansers are inconvenient or too messy. Moisturizers that come in gel form tend to be lighter and cooler than their creams and lotions counterparts. Look for gel moisturizers if you have sunburns or reddened regions of skin.

Lotions

Bioelements Acne Breakout Control

Acne lotions are similar to acne creams in that their main purpose is to be antibacterial, healing and moisturizing. However, lotions, such as Bioelements Breakout Control are not as thick as lotions and are a good form of skin care and acne prevention during hot weather or if your skin doesn’t need the intense treatment often found with creams. Lotions are great for everyday use, any time of the day.

Masks

Glytone Essentials

Masks are the skin care product version of “take a deep breath, close your eyes and relax”. Putting a mask on your face does great things for the skin below through massive rehydration, nourishment and intense moisturizing. After utilizing a mask such as Glytone Essentials Deep Cleansing Masque, the cleansed skin is less prone to acne outbreaks after damaging bacteria are removed, harsh environmental toxins are released and skin is pampered with botanicals, antioxidants and exfoliating materials. However, masks are also great for the soul. Sit back, grab a book, a glass of wine and enjoy your 10-20 minutes of down time.

Scrubs and Peels

DDF Acne Scrub

Removing dead, flaky skin as well as unclogging bacteria filled pores is a sure-fire way to reduce your chances of acne outbreaks. Scrubs and peels, such as DDF Pumice Acne Scrub provide the perfect method to remove dirt and grime that builds up throughout the day. Additionally, through powerful ingredients such as salicylic acid and glycolic acid, scrubs and peels target fine lines and wrinkles along with increasing firmness and building collagen.

Serums

Colorescience Spot Treatment

Serums are concentrated versions of creams and lotions. Thicker and more viscous, they provide a very large quantity of skin healing and nourishing vitamins and minerals in a small quantity of product. In addition, when formulated specifically for acne prevention and treatment, serums such as Colorescience Turn the Tides Blemish Serum are extremely effective at warding off future outbreaks and reducing the appearance of acne scars and blemishes.

Kits

Skinceuticals Acne Treatment Kit

Just because you’re traveling doesn’t mean your acne is on vacation, too. In fact, when you are on the road, acne tends to act up more often. Kits also allow you to obtain an instant regimen compiled by the manufacturer to work as one. Kits such as SkinCeuticals Acne Care System and Biomedic Intensive Acne Treatment contain everything you will need to keep your acne under control while away from your normal routine.
